Just installed the new wordpress

So I just installed the new WordPress finally and I cant tell the difference. I was expecting for version 4 there to be tons of new cool features… but once again I am disappointed just like I was  when version 3 came out. I keep on thinking that they are going to change wordpress to be more front end and turn wordpress into something like drupal.. but that day never happens and I guess at the end of the day wordpress is simply a blog platform and there really isn’t much else to a blog fundamentally.

If you do have a look at the wordpress list of things they have added and changed in the new version you will see that most of the changes are most back end and security things… boring but I guess security features are very important and stops your site from being hacked by the usual ugg boot spammers.

Ps,  I wish that drupal was more popular and had more themes and customization to it else I would be using that.. they don’t seem to update druapl very often which makes me a little scared about using it too… security and all.

SEO

Search engines optimization what the heck is that? Well to get straight to the point search engine optimization is the practice of improving your website and its credibility in the search engines eyes in such a way that your website ranks higher in the search results for a targeted search term which you are optimizing for.

Seo, is very dynamic and is constantly changing all the time not because people who do seo want to make it change but because the rules of seo are changing that the search engine uses to rank sites. You have numerous rankings factors which have widely changed the way websites and business can rank in the business. It used to be in the past that you were able to make a website rank highly in the search results by keyword stuff, and sending lots of random links to your site, however search engines now deem this as manipulative and will penalize any site trying to do such practices like doing off page seo of creating fake unnatural links or trying to make a site rank high with spammy on page techniques like keyword stuffing. Time have changes and the search engines are for more sophisticated than they have ever been and can now more easily detect whether a website is spam and created soly to rank highly in the search engines or not. On page factors are taken into account when determining just where to rank a site like how relevant the site is for a keyword, does the page use its own high quality content or does it scrape other peoples? IS the site fats at loading? Does it have any more good pages related to the search keyword which may suggest the website knows what it is talking about? Off page seo factors such as links and social metrics are also used for determining a sites position it is thought that the more good website linking to a site a bit like a mini internet democracy shows that the site is trusted by other so must be of value and should rank higher than others that have lesser or fewer links pointing to them. Spammy links though is a problem that many search engines face but algos like the google penguin algo can easily sniff out those manipulative and spammy links designed to game the system. Some ways the algos work out whether a link is natural or not is by looking at things like keyword density of a website.. it is a sign that something isn’t quite right is all the links for example to a website use the same anchor text even more so if all the anchor text is that keyword that a website maybe trying to rank for.Spammy low value links can be ones that have been automatically generated, seo tools will build hundreds, thousands or millions of links on spammy rubbish websites in a attempt to build links. But because search engines can notice trends and patterns of links coming from auto approve blogs, forum profiles and other sources of these garbage links it can be quite easy for search engines to detect and penalize these sites trying to game the system.

Another way search engines may try to check whether a site is trying to game the system is by checking to see if paid link are being used… Paid links that pass pr are against the search engines guidelines…. These links are often picked up because they are usually found on irrelevant website using exact targeted anchor text, manual action is usually taken to combat these kinds of links as paid links are much harder to detect than spammy low value links.

As you can see the only real way to rank high in the search engines is to create good links…..not for the search engines but for users only!

For most of my websites that I control I dont do the on page seo but just get this Sheffield seo company called jmx to help do the on page for me, I also dont bother with seo because its pointless due to the fact that only high pr super websites can rank anyway nowadays even if you put tons of effort and create the best website in the world.

In this post I am sorry If I sound like I am backing up the search engines and coming across as saying “oh poor multi billion dollar search engines” in fact I am against the way search engines are destroying small businesses and controlling the internet. It wont be long until they are controlling everything we do outside the internet too with how much money they make the monopoly will soon grow out of the search engines. I think the search engine sparticulary google are evil!

Cheap webhosting is rubbish

If your thinking of getting your own website you will need web hosting. But something you should keep in mind when thinking about getting hosting is you need good hosting because with a lot of scammers out their you may find if your not careful you end up getting a website that you cannot even go on at all because the web hosting is always down despite you paying for your website to be up.. after all that is the whole point of web hosting right? Cheap web hosting for example under $1 a month is always nine out of ten times a scam. Yes you will get web hosting alright but 99% of the time your website wont load. $1 sounds cheap but what is the point of getting web hosting that is never up anyway? Another point you may want to consider if you are still not put off by cheap web hosting is the fact that cheap web hosting is full of cheap spam websites which isn’t good for seo at all. Bing, google and other search engines will not trust your website and in effect rank your site very highly if it is on poor web hosting because it is on the same web hosting as loads of bad spammers which the search engine do not trust so why should the search engine trust your site too? Not only that search engines cannot visit down websites.. thus they cannot crawl and index your website meaning you wont even get on the search engine in the first place and even just slow loading websites which usually comes with cheap web hosting is bad because it is bad for user experience and is a factor for ranking in the search engines.

web hosting downtime is against the law

False advertisement and promises of up time

Poor web hosting breaks the law plain and simple because you pay NO MATTER HOW CHEAPLY for a website to be hosted and available on the internet. If the web host is constantly down this is breaking the contract between you and the webhost. The web hosting is not providing its part of the deal.. for instance if you pay for monthly web hosting it is reasonable to expect the website to be hosted for a month… after all that is what you paid for and was advertised… . If in that time the webhost is down then you are not getting what you paid for and what was agreed. Technical problems are no excuse either.. it is the webhosters duty to make sure that the web hosting is always running. It is only the webhosters fault if the hosting goes down because of “technical issues”.

But as always on the internet law is nothing and scammers can scam who ever they want without consequence.

My advise to you would be make sure you grab good web hosting from  a big company… and not some cheap host you found on a forum for $0.0000001 a month otherwise be prepared to be scammed. If you have got any comments or have been scammed yourself please comment below!

Wireless headphones vs normal headphones which is better?

If you thinking of buying some headphones this is probably a good article for you! Here we will be talking about what is better wireless headphones or normal ones! Wireless headphones use wifi technology to get rid of the wire and let you listen to music even if your not plugged in… But in all honesty wireless headphones may sound good but they really aren’t!

Here are some of the reasons why i think that wireless headphones are just not worth it!

Shhhhhhhh……

You better be playing music constantly otherwise you will be startled by a deafening shhhhhh sound… OR be annoyed by radio or even tv broadcasts. This is one of the major problems with some wireless headphones they are always receiving radio-waves! And it can get darn annoying!

Recharging them

Wireless headphones always need recharging where as normal ones with wires dont… This can be quite a inconvenience especially if you forget to recharge them or you are going on a long flight and cant! You dont have this annoyance with headphones with wires.

Sound quality isn’t as good in my opinion

The sound quality because the sound has to be sent via wifi can be at times a little broken up and fuzzy! Whereas normal headphones generally are as clear as possible because the sound isn’t traveling through the air and being effected.

Health risks

This may not be on your list of priorities but wireless headphones could be potentially bad for your health. How the wireless headphones work is by receiving and finding radio-waves! Normally radio-waves aren’t not a problem but considering the wireless receiver is found on the headphones constantly receiving radio-waves this long term could pose a health concern.

Premium price

Despite all these negatives because wireless headphones use the latest tech they are more expensive than your conventional headphones! Expect to pay lots more just for the privilege of having no wires!

In conclusion

I hope this quick guide on what to buy will help you decide on what to buy. I bought some wireless headphones to listen to music and movies in private when I am out and about but after a while I got sick of all the faults and bought a pair of normal headphones for much less… which have better sound quality and dont keep making me jump by shhhh’ing every time they dont receive noise. I also didn’t like the idea of all those radio-waves going straight to my head all the time.
